Server moving to new Facilities, planned outage Wednesday March 21, 2012

Planning to move server to collocation facilities Wednesday, March 21, 11:00 am (Pacific Time). This means the server, and all related sites and services will be down from about 10:00 am to 11:30 am (PST). This impacts the following related sites: sites:

This should be the final significant outage for this entire lengthy overhaul and upgrade process. All the sites and services will be MUCH faster and at least 8x the capacity from the previous setup.

Just a quick update on thes server overhaul progress.
* The complete operating system overhaul is complete (switched from Gentoo to
OpenSuSE - a little bit of trivia, did you know that IBM's Watson on Jeopardy
was Running OpenSuSE Linux?)
* RAM has been upgraded from 2 GB to 8 GB (4x the memory)
* Websites being upgraded, still in progress, will go much faster once at the
server farm.
* The IRC (Internet Relay Chat) services have been a problem setting up
because of still running at house.
* We're planning to move server back to collocation server farm facility later
this week.
* Then IRC Services should begin working again shortly thereafter.
* Then everything, website, streaming, chatrooms, file downloads, etc. will be
MUCH faster and far more stable too.
