Comment Re: Learn 2 Play The One Ring RPG, Melbourne, Australia
by merpadmin last modified Oct 22, 2019 12:05 AM
While they did a decent job with the adaptation of The One Ring RPG (TOR) to Dungeons & Dragon (D&D) 5th Edition (5e), they left out a few great parts from TOR. Most notably the Fellowship Focus. Also instead of Hope points, they only have th D&D5e Inspiration which is quite different. They did at least keep the Shadow Points and many other great mechanisms that make for much better role-playing gaming than straight 5e. We use it regularly in our weekly GM trainings and in our weekly community programs. Several of us prefer TOR far more, but it is easier to bring D&Ders into Middle-earth with AiMe with a system they are familiar with. For new RPGers, that have never played before and don't have any RPG system biases, we think TOR is much better.

Comment Re: MEAG (Middle-earth Adventure Game)

We have included MEAG in the new poll, "What Tolkien-based RPG do you use NOW?". If you need any added permissions to updated the MEAG folder of the website, let us know, and we'll set that up for you so you can run a page, provide updates, etc. in that section. Also, if you wanted a subdomain like meag.merp.com, let us know and that can be arranged too, or an alias url such as www.merp.com/meag Namarie!
